HD DVD: We Hardly Knew Ye

Blu-ray, Blu-ray, Blu-ray. HD DVD has got to be tired of hearing that name in the news lately, and it's everywhere thanks to CES. The annual consumer electronics event in Las Vegas has been positively buzzing around Blu-ray this week. Following a January 4 announcement that Warner Bros. will back Blu-ray Disc technology exclusively, scores of manufacturers and film producers have hopped on the bandwagon and are touting their Blu-ray plans to anyone who will listen at CES. It seems to be the final crushing blow in the battle of high-definition disc technology...it's probably safe to say that HD DVD is officially a sinking ship.
